Abstract: The problem of pollution of natural ecosystems by oil and oil products is considered. The object of investigation was the territory of the sanitary protection zone of Moscow oil refinery adjacent to the Moscow River. The results of laboratory tests of samples of soil and river water are presented. A comparative analysis of the hydrocarbon group composition of the samples of soil and coastal refinery sludges was carried out.

Abstract: Electrochemical (voltammetric) analysis at the interface of two insoluble electrolytes can significantly extend the possibilities of today’s analytical chemistry. Of special interest is the possibility of analyzing such ordinary objects as poli-alkil-guanidines, the prospect of which is attractive alternative to chlorination for easy cleaning. A significant advantage of the method in this case is not only the simplicity of equipment, and its assimilation, which is especially important for water quality control in water treatment. An additional advantage is the possibility to determine heavy metals in water using the same equipment, as well as its low cost compared with the complex chromatographic systems sometimes used to solve similar problems.

Abstract: Hazardous emissions of a gas-turbine unit are compared with those of other heat engines and furnace plants. Measures to reduce carbon and nitrogen oxides concentrations in the gases emitted from a gas-turbine unit are considered. An example of calculating environmental parameters in the process of gas-turbine operation is given. Economic appraisal of upgraded units with respect for hazardous emissions is presented.

Abstract: The offered article is concerned with the issues of industrial safety of liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage facilities. The classification of LNG storage facilities is presented and a short description of these is provided. The paper also contains the review of dangers associated with impacts on the internal and the external hull of a storage. The safety barriers related to the considered dangers are described as a means of preventing the occurrence and reduction of consequences of the situation when the studied hazards take place
