He is Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas. Alexander V. SEMENOV graduated from the Stavropol State University in 2009 with a degree in Applied Mathematics. He is graduate student of the Department of Computer-Aided Design of Facilities of Oil and Gas Industry at Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas. Abstract: The problem of designing information systems for oil and gas industry facilities is considered. The concept based on the principle of modular and object-oriented approach is proposed. The paper focuses on the architecture and the functional features of the engineering data system. The proposed architecture allows to plan and implement flexible, scalable systems of engineering data management of various types of oil and gas facilities. The use of innovative approaches in the development of information systems for a given subject area can reduce risks and increase technological efficiency and safety of operation.
