Identification of development of highly productive reservoirs based on geomechanical modeling process

Abstract: In complex deposits with large angles of bedding and a sharp change in the thickness of the seams, zones of nonuniform stresses, leading to rock deformation, are formed. To identify such zones, various methods are used, one of which is geomechanical modeling. In the course of this work, a geological-geomechanical model of the productive reservoir of the oil field was constructed, over which areas with apparent extremes of stress concentrations were identified. The analysis of the wells performance and logging data showed that in areas with maximum stress concentrations rocks start fracturing, which results in a sharp increase in the productivity of the wells

Abstract: Secondary transformations of carbonate rocks of the Late Cambrian age of the Nepa-Botuoba anteclise significantly change the filtration-capacitive properties that can lead to both improvement and deterioration of the reservoir characteristics of these rocks. An extensive petrophysical collection of samples was analyzed to study the development of secondary processes, including salinization of pore space with halite. Examples of the effect of the complex multicomponent rock composition and secondary processes on the elastic properties of rocks. These were determined from the data of an extended set of logging and wave acoustic logging methods are shown

Abstract: According to the results of repeated studies by neutron methods the seal effect of the clay cap overlying the deposits developed in the depletion mode under reduced reservoir pressure was identified. A mathematical model of water filtration and clay sealing that calculates the change in pore pressure in the cap and reduction of clay porosity was developed. The amount of water forced out of the clay cap into the formation for a single production well operating under a long-time drawdown is evaluated.
