Improving the quality of castings for pump assembly

Abstract: The technology for making castings for pump assembly with high surface quality is considered. It is shown that it is possible to manufacture castings of the pump assembly without surface defects using nonstick coatings based on aluminosilicates modified with nanostructured modifier (boehmite). The effect of nano modifiers on the high temperature strength of nonstick coatings is studied. The optimal content of boehmite is shown to increase the strength of nonstick coatings in the temperature range 1000–1500 °C due to the formation of a new phase in the coating, i.e. mullite.

Abstract: The questions of recycling technologies for scarce alloying elements (tungsten, chromium, molybdenum, vanadium, cobalt, etc.) in the manufacture of cast tool and industrial equipment for various purposes, as well as for use as working bodies of drilling and tunneling equipment are considered. The influence of various modifying elements on the physical and mechanical properties of high speed steel is studied. The positive influence of titanium diboride on the impact strength and wear resistance of high speed steel is shown. The effect of cooling rate on the microstructure of high speed steel is studied.
