The need for geo-environmental monitoring in oil and gas producing regions of Russia

Abstract: The cases of the formation of man-made hydrogeological anomalies in the development of oil and gas fields are considered. These include hydrochemical, hydrodynamic and hydro-geo-thermal anomalies. In the oil and gas provinces fusion of the hydrogeological anomalies into man-made hydrogeological systems is observed. Disposal of industrial waste also leads to the formation of man-made hydrogeological anomalies. No less dangerous are radionuclides that occur in groundwater as a result of nuclear explosions at oil and gas fields. All this requires constant geo-environmental monitoring of underground hydrosphere.

Abstract: The role of the technological processes at different stages of development of oil and gas deposits is described. The data required for building a geological and hydrogeological model of the deposit is presented, as well as for taking into account the losses of oil with toxic elements in the collection system and in the process of transportation and operation of offshore oil and gas fields. The role of groundwater in maintaining reservoir pressures at oil fields under development and the need for disposal of industrial wastewater, gas ?and other petroleum products are stressed. The formation of man-made hydrogeological anomalies is described, and the need to control the dynamics of man-made processes and monitoring of underground hydrosphere is pointed out.

Abstract: We considered the transformations of natural hydrogeological fields, leading to the transformations affecting the composition of groundwater as well as the properties of hydrocarbons and water expelling stages of hydrogeological cycles leading to the formation of hydrocarbon deposits and infiltration stages of reformation. We described the reconstruction of the hydrogeological history, which allows determining the properties of hydrocarbons, choosing a rational way of extracting them with measures to protect mineral resources
