Abstract: Digital model of a basin, where the accumulated geological information is consistently systematized and analyzed, contributes to the efficiency and safety of prospecting, exploration and development of offshore oil and gas fields at any stage of oil and gas exploration. Corroboration assessment of the resource potential depends directly on the correct choice of the geological model. The correctness of the model, in turn, depends on the completeness and quality of the geological information used, which are determined by the state of knowledge of the site and surrounding areas and the correct interpretation of this information. An important criterion affecting the reliability of the geological models of promising sites and areas and the quantitative prediction of their resource potential is the degree of the development of the area. A special role in evaluating promising new areas is given to stratigraphic-prospect wells, which provide data both for the calibration of seismic parameters of the section and construction of its reliable stratification, as well as characteristics of petroleum-geological properties of the sedimentary cover. The lack of these wells significantly reduces the quality of geological models of promising new fields on the Shelf and, consequently, the reliability of its potential assessment

Abstract: Basin modeling to estimate the oil and gas potential of the Azov and Black seas is described. The conclusions made are fundamental and allow to essentially increase the resources of hydrocarbons in the region under consideration. These also permit to identify the main areas for exploration and prospecting on theterritory of the Crimea Peninsular and adjacent Azov and Black sea areas. The analysis and modeling of the basin identified the possible petroleum charges which can fill traps with oil. Potential source rock intervals are expected in the transient formations (Paleozoic) and sedimentary cover (Chalk). The study allowed to determine the pattern of occurrence of hydrocarbon accumulations and propects of the oil and gas potential of the western part of the sea area

Abstract: Sedimentary-facial models of Paleozoic subsalt deposits of Orenburg Region built on the basis of chronostratigraphic analysis are considered. The analysis allowed to identify the rock units (Ordovician-Low-Devonian (pre-Emian), Emian-mid-Devonian, Fransko-Turnian, Vesian-Bashkirian, Moscow-upper-Carboniferous, low-Permian) which genetically interconnected by unity and directivity of sedimentation and separated by surfaces of regional discordance the formation of which in turn is caused by global falls of the sea level and (or) structural change of the area in question

Abstract: The Caspian region is one of the richest oil and gas bearing mega-basins with big prospects of discovering new major fields of hydrocarbons. The Caspian sea extended along the average meridian trend crosses from the north to south a series of structural elements of latitudinal orientation, belonging to the southeast margin of the ancient East European platform (the Near-Caspian basin), Skifsko-Turan young, basically hercynian platform and Alpine-Himalayan orogenic belt. The geological structure of the region is complicated enough and demands geodynamics generalization on the whole.
