Abstract: This article is about the structure and composition of the weathering crust of the basement of the southern part of the Nepsko-Botuobinskaya anticline. The authors classified and named the rocks composing the upper part of the crystalline basement according to the 3rd edition of the latest Petrographic Code of Russia, published in 2008. In addition, reservoir properties of weathered rock were estimated. The question about weathering rocks as a prospect for oil and gas exploration was discussed

Abstract: The influence of acid treatment on carbonate reservoirs is analyzed on samples of core. Several genetic types of upper Devonian limestones and dolomites of the Timano-Pechora Province are studied. The investigated acidized samples were saturated colored pitch. The structure of pore space was analyzed in transparent sections. Depending on the rock composition and structure both improved reservoir properties of rocks, and their deterioration was established. It is shown that acid treatment in good re- servoirs can be not effective or have negative consequences, while inferior reservoirs can show improved permeability.
