Features of geological structure and petroleum potential of Sobinsk field for rationale for exploration activity

Abstract: The article considers the features of the geological structure and oil and gas potential of the Sobinsk oil and gas condensate and helium deposit. To forecast and select objects promising for hydrocarbon exploration, the history of development and paleotectonic features of the Katanga oil and gas bearing area has been reconstructed. The results of these studies, combined with materials of geological survey, drilling, well logging, etc., made it possible to characterize the structure of the Proterozoic (mainly Vendian) strata, the relationship of structural geometry of promising complexes at various structural-lithological levels. The recommendations on geological exploration in the territory of Sobinsky license area are given

Abstract: Geophysical methods of determining the accumulation type using AL- EL cross-plotting and seismic interpretation data are considered. A detailed study of sedimentary types acoustic log and reservoir fluid saturation character AL-EL complex enables to determine the occurrence or absence of non-reservoir discontinuities between deposits. This must be confirmed by testing results and results of geological modeling using seismic data

Abstract: Applied aspects of effects of lithofacies characteristics of cross-section, fracture tectonics, disjunctive sedimentation on the process of identifying and evaluating geofluid pressures in oil and gas bearing cross sections are presented as exemplified by West Siberian fields. The results obtained from detailed study of pore pressure distributions in West Siberian fields show that even under the conditions of complicated geological structures it is possible to evaluate objectively the geofluid dynamic systems and thus to increase the efficiency of geological prospecting and further drilling

Abstract: Problems of evaluating pore pressures using logging data under complicated geological conditions of Messoyakh area of West Siberia are considered. A modified method of equivalent depths allowing to obtain reliable values of pore pressures under large-scale intraformational and surface washouts of cross-section is shown. The flow chart of the pressure evaluating algorithm for PCs is given. The main difficulties of applying abnormal pore pressure for pressure evaluation are identified

Abstract: Quantitative models of logging facies of carbonate rocks and methods of their application for facial analysis are considered. Logging genetic models are based on the estimates of lithology, porosity and oil saturation of carbonate deposits using logging data. The importance of study of secondary transformations of carbonate rocks is stressed. Examples of applying the offered method of facial interpretation of logging materials of complicated carbonate cross sections including reefs of the fields in Orenburg region of Kazakhstan and those in Byelorussia are presented

Abstract: The article deals with the cyclic structure of Jurassic deposits of the North of Western Siberia. To substantiate the regional cyclites correlation method was used, which implements the principle of chronostratigraphic section intervals tracking, using an approach based on a combination of the correlation method of frame, cyclites and characteristic intervals of pore pressure gradients curves.
