Abstract: Environmental pollution caused by the operation of the Russian oil and gas complex is a serious problem. Application of the environmental management systems in oil and gas complex effects positively the environment and thus the quality of life of the population. These systems ensure the order and the consecutive sequence in which organizations solve the ecological problems through resource and responsibilities allocation and continuous evaluation of methods, procedures and processes related to environmental problems and tasks as well as environmental policy of the enterprise
